About UPBA
Built to grow
pole bending.
United Pole Bending Association is a new, non-profit association for the riders, producers and families who love pole bending.
Our story
Why we started UPBA.
United Pole Bending Association is a brand new, non-profit association started by people who live and breathe pole bending. We started UPBA because there just were not many pole classes around the arena, and the ones that did run rarely had any added money behind them. Riders were hauling a long way for a single class, and too many good pole horses were sitting at home. We wanted to change that. UPBA exists to grow the sport: more pole classes at more shows, real added money in the pen, and a place where riders of every age and level can compete, improve and be recognized for it. Because we are a non-profit, our focus stays on the sport and the people in it, not on profit. We are just getting started, and with the help of riders, producers and families across the country, we plan to turn pole bending into something big.
